Presentation Overview

Forensic nurses play a critical role in bridging healthcare and the legal system. However, the absence of forensic-specific training in standard nursing education presents challenges in areas such as:
โœ” Proper documentation of evidence
โœ” Interpretation of legal procedures
โœ” Effective court testimony

By attending this session, participants will:
1๏ธโƒฃ Understand the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities of forensic nursing.
2๏ธโƒฃ Review Ohio laws, including HIPAA and the Nurse Practice Act, to ensure patient rights are upheld.
3๏ธโƒฃ Gain a deeper understanding of the legal system and the forensic nurseโ€™s role in improving patient health outcomes and long-term safety.
4๏ธโƒฃ Report increased knowledge relevant to forensic nursing and care delivery for forensic nursing populations.

This session offers an invaluable opportunity to expand your forensic nursing knowledge and enhance your professional practice. We encourage all members to attend and engage in this critical discussion.
